2009-2010 Wilder-Waite School
Wilder-Waite School was constructed in 1947 and opened its door to students in the fall of 1948. In 1953, 1959, and 1964 additions were made to the building. Wilder-Waite will have a new look this year with the addition of a pitched roof. Hopefully this new pitched roof will keep the building dry for the next 50+ years.
On May 13 the School Board approved a bid in the amount of $368,000.00 for the new roof at Wilder-Waite School with Hein Construction of Peoria.

Although a new addition to Wlilder Waite School at Alta won't be completely finished when school starts this fall, students will still be using the new room. Added to the existing gymnasium (center, raised portion) and classroom area ( front area) is a new section housing four classroom (right rear), kindergarten (left rear), a cafeteria and office. Children will bring sack lunches until the cafeteria is finished. Contractor on the $225,000 addition is Russel Lankton of Peoria. Enrollment at the school is about 400.
